Agreed. I don’t believe that there should be a right to keep and bare arms. I think it should be a privilege like driving a car where proficiency must be achieve, demonstrated and maintained.

We have people claiming this and that are human rights. Example, Healthcare or Housing or Employment or Education. None of those are human rights. Yes, the constitution says that American’s right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed but clearly laws have been passed and upheld by the courts that do indeed infringe on that right.

Why is that the case? Because society and the courts do not really believe in the Second Amendment but it is very hard to change the constitution and the process of changing the constitution has the risk of including changes you did not want so you don’t open the box if you can fudge it some other way.
