The antiracist approach requires standing up for the policies like reparations that can create racial equity.
At best reparations can reduce inequity. It will also exacerbate racial divides. I will have a backlash. That does not mean we should not make reparations. We need to do it with our eyes wide open.
We can have the debate but I doubt that reparation could ever pass Congress.
If it gets more national attention it will just be an exercise in political posturing. A Democrat can comfortably support reparations knowing that it will build their base support among Blacks at the expense of some moderates.
