At its origin the Tea Party was not racist. The Tea Party was formed by Fiscal Conservatives to force the Federal Government to balance its budget by reducing spending. The Tea Party also opposed the bail outs following the Great Recession. That put them at odds with Obama. You have to understand, it was originally a Libertarian Republican movement but some parts of the Republican party had been racist for decades. The Tea Party was not the Alt Right or White Supremacists. There really is not more Tea Party, the party killed it and stole the name.
