Being an office dweller does not preclude one from being capable of doing for one's self. I think where you came from matters more than where you are. I am an office dweller but I have grown my own food, canned, dehydrated, fermented, pickled or whatever.

Made my own beer and wine. Renovated a house, built furniture. Built from scratch electrical powered model airplanes. Done my own gunsmithing, made my own ammo. Hunted and fished.

I think this is because I grew up in a rural community and grew up half a century ago. Time and place of my upbringing seems to have made a difference. Being an engineer and working in an office in a factory in a big city does not mean I forgot and don't practice, doing for myself. I hesitate to contract out what I can do myself.
