Big Agra is holding the reins, money talks to both the big farmers and the politicians.
Farmer’s markets are never going to be more than a tiny part of the food distribution networks.
The thing in the original message that will be the killer is that when you make the changes the reduce demand and yields, the pressure to control costs will be passed on to the farmers. If you reduce meat consumption and push for more environmentally friendly horticulture, the farmers see reduced volumes and more expense per unit volume.
I would love to see farms turned back to grass land but does not support farm families.
