White Extinction Anxiety

Did you consider that it is just improperly named? Might it be “White Privilege Reduction Anxiety” wouldn’t it cause you anxiety if you were used to being allowed to move to the head of the line but now sometimes you have to wait your turn.

I don’t even know what not being racist would be like. I actively try not to discriminate or actually try to make sure I don’t give offence. If I was not racist I wouldn’t have to try, it just would be.

I know that People of Color see me as a White Person. I try to understand that by popular definition they can’t be racist because they are disadvantaged. That does not mean they don’t discriminate against me or treat me in some ways offensive. I get treated in offensive ways by some White People too. There is almost no place where I really fit in. Spend 40 years away from home you won’t even fit in at home.

Thanks for your story. Would you share what kind of Cuban you might be, not that it matters but I am curious. You identify as Cuban but that is not very descriptive, is Arturo a clue, do you live in the U.S. are you of mixed race, might you be a natural born U.S. citizen? I speculate that you are an “American” because of your writing vocabulary and phrasing. I wonder why you identify as Cuban?

What kind of White person am I? I am descended from Immigrants for the British Isles. My Mother liked to say we are Scotch, Irish, English but we are really mostly Gallo-Romans not Anglo-Saxon or Nordic. Dark wavy hair, lots of hair everywhere, kind of shorter than average, dark eyes, slightly darker skin no freckles. More like Dwarves than Elves.
