The US federal government struggles, all right — but to debase and crush their citizens who are having troubles.
Do you really believe that the Federal Government deliberately strives to debase and crush citizens who are having troubles?
Education, health, nutrition and housing are State responsibilities not Federal ones. While some funding for some programs is provided by the Federal Government it is still mostly controlled by the State and local governments. Like in the EU each member state is responsible for caring for its people.
We need to make our states and cities do their jobs and care for their people. Each State provides Primary and Secondary education for all its residents, they provide free meals at schools, they also provide free medical care for the poor some of the poor even get help with the cost of housing. Poor people get SNAP benefits that for free food and poor pregnant women and infants get extra nutrition assistance. Worker retraining and job placement assistance is also provide in most states with the Federal Government paying the costs for some classes of workers.
I don’t see how this is the Federal Government actively working to debase and crush its citizens.
When people go to the county offices to apply for aid from the state don’t the office workers help them fill out the proper paperwork.
When I was impacted by Hurricane Katrina I received aid without a lot of trouble including food, water, emergency supplies and some cash just for showing up and asking. When I was laid-off I was helped to sign up for unemployment and SNAP Benefits and invited to attend job retraining courses.
