Following my wife’s second heart attack we applied for disability for her and she was denied. Since we really did not need the money we did not appeal even though we were told that almost all first time applications are denied but are often granted on appeal. She did not live five more years even though she did not go back to work. The stress of conducting an appeal probably would have shortened her life even more.
