Some men would have said, “it better not.” Doesn’t he recognize that sometimes he is your protector. If someone catcalled you while you were together it is disrespectful to both of you, a deliberate attempt to start trouble. It can be ignored with comfort since it would only be talk and no action but if you are alone I can understand how it would feel like it could escalate into physical assault.
