It would seem that getting ‘free money’ is only bad if you’re poor.

Getting free money is only bad if it is confiscated from someone and not freely given.

Taking from the middle class and giving to the poor might be bad. The rich giving most of their money to their heirs, is that not ok? The problem is not with the getting it is with the taking. That said, the rich should willingly give more to the poor and less to their heirs.

Proponents for it rightfully claim that if the incentive to work is the fear of poverty and homelessness then we have already submitted to tyranny!

This is the reality of billions of people on this planet. Is this reality really tyranny? Before there was the first capitalist it was the reality, if you were capable you gathered your own food and food to share. Even some handicapped or disabled were abandoned if no one thought they were worth being taken care of. It has been a long slow march to a society that believes there should be a safety net. The next step to where freeloading is OK, might be too big. Should you not be expected to contribute in order to receive the benefits of society. Maybe the benefits should not be tied quite so tightly to your contribution but shouldn’t everyone contribute a reasonable effort?

UBI is not universal until it applies to everyone on the planet.
