He does not go deep enough to be meaningful.

I am rich from a high paying job. I saved money.

Guess he was wrong on both accounts but the devil is in the details. I have a high paying job but I am not rich from my salary I am rich from my investments. How did I make investments. I saved money to invest. The stock market made me rich. Not because I bought stocks but because I bought stocks when the market tanked and sold them before the market crashed. How could I buy stocks when the market was low. I saved my money and I had a 401K.

Oh, when I had a windfall I saved it instead of spending it.. Actually my first windfall was used as a down payment on my first house. I broke even on that first house but it was a net winner because I got to live in that house for a decade for just the interest on the mortgage minus the mortgage interest deduction. Cheaper than renting.
