Here is a clue that might offer insight into how to fix the system.
Capitalism has raised more people out of poverty than any other economic system but it did it by leveling the compensation for low skilled labor. It let poor workers in less developed countries compete with low skilled workers in developed countries driving down wages in the developed world and raising wages in the less developed world. Taking hundreds of millions of people out of poverty.
This did almost completely stop the growth of wages in America. This did end a lot of jobs that provided a middle class lifestyle to low skilled workers in America. This created a mistake view of the value of a college degree. The greedy prey on the mistake and the mistaken suffered for it.
So at this point you should be looking for the lesson, the helpful lesson.
The middle class a want as much luxury and security as possible so they are very price conscious, value conscious. Rising wages would reduce the value provided to the middle class, sort of the key is what you consider valuable.
Americans need to value welfare of those of lower class in the calculation of the price goods and services we purchase. This is more than buy American. It is tipping, huge tipping for services. It is using services (after the pandemic) more than minimally use them exorbitantly. Accept the formation of more unions. Those with money need to spend it not hoard it. Those who oppose Socialism better promote social welfare with their spending instead. The really rich could start a bunch more non-profit corporations as well.
