Hu Wat Wen
Hu — the not rich. Thats who. Wat — food and energy. Thats what. Wen -if you only could know. Thats when. When will food and energy become so expensive that everyone not rich will revolt. How long can wages and benefits continue to rise to prevent the revolt.
Governments worldwide understand the need for food and energy to be affordable. The rich if they don’t understand at least tolerate the governments subsidizing food and energy.
When will the rich say enough is enough, we will not carry the bill any longer. This bill gets ever more expensive. The price of energy (note here: food is just an analog for energy, they are linked at the hip and shoulder) will rise. They might want to drill baby drill but there is pressure to actually price in the environmental costs. Energy priced to include the cost of the environmental damage is much higher that we pay today.
Right now, the protests are only about stopping the stupidity. Someday they will probably be about the price of bread. When people hit the streets to protest the price of bread, governments fall. Just saying, long and numerous presidents. (in Asia, bread is actually rice)
If you are starving, you will kill to survive.
