I agree that we should reduce consumption. 100 billion for 7 billion gives us less than 15 new items each year. I think one new pair of footwear, five new pairs of socks five new pairs of underwear, two new pairs of pants and two new shirts are really not enough. Some years I will need a new jacket, hat, gloves, bathing suit, tie, boots, etc. and I am wearing out things nobody wears.
