I am not a partisan; I am a Republican, but I support a woman's right to choose. I vote on issues based on the facts and my conscience and not based on a political party's platform. I am not surprised that protections for a woman's right to choose can be passed in a red state. It is also clear that protections for a woman's right to choose cannot be passed at the national level while the filibuster remains in place. I do support the filibuster. I don't believe that half the states should be able to dictate what is allowed or not allowed nationwide. I know that causes grid lock but until people select their representation based on a candidate's character and intelligence and not on party loyalty, we probably need to have gridlock.
