I am not sure I agree with this definition. Can you provide a reference to supprort this definition. "Psychologically, intelligence functions as an umbrella term describing and bundling aspects of human intellectual capabilities manifested in sophisticated cognitive accomplishments, high levels of motivation, and self-awareness."
I don't feel that motivation and self-awareness are attributes of intelligence. I think sophisticated cognitive abilities across a broad spectrum of decision making situations is the measure of intelligence. Intelligence also lacks judgement and intuition. We often confuse intelligence with wisdom and knowledge. You can be intelligent but uninformed in which case wisdom would indicate that you would recognize that deficiency and correct it before you act.
Regarding morals and ethics for AI's, the issue is not who would do the teaching but what ethical model would be chosen. I think a Budhist AI would be different than a Christian AI but they might be more similar than a secular or Nihilists AI. Asimov advocated for AI to put ultimate value on Human Life. Only a human would think that is the right answer. If you left AI to learn right from wrong from first principals they would not make the decision.
