I am old and out to touch, but I have always thought that a "girls' girl" were girls and women who created their own life if feminine circles. They sort of accept the patriarchy but kind of divorce themselves from it and mostly operate in women's circles. Care more what other girls and women think of them then of what men think. Played best when they suck up the benefits that the patriarchy will throw their way but stay focused on their position in women's circles. Men drool and women rule.
