Income disparity may be at a historic high, but it feels as though the wealthy are less visible than ever. Consider the one of a kind stuff that you don’t even know is one of a kind and maybe extra special.

I don’t want to spend a lot of money on stuff that everyone with money can buy. I want stuff that nobody even knows about. You can be poor and own a watch that cost you $10,000. That watch might just be an indicator of how stupid and insecure you are.

This is from a recent WAPO article.

“They like the idea that, I’m the only one who has this.” What they look for, Laakkonen says, is “uniqueness, and that feeling when it looks kind of like nothing and [it’s] simple, but you know it is the most beautifully made, in the most beautiful material.”

My snobbishness does not regard clothes or cars or boats or homes and I am not filthy rich, but I have my collections of exclusive things. Nobody would know I am rich and I like it that way.
