I am with you 100%, I started baking more and I need recipes when I bake. Meals, I am like you looking at the ingredients I have and whipping up something tasty. I don't bother much with presentation when I cook for myself. Most of my meals would not photograph well. A bowl of chili or a chicken salad sandwich, not much to show off but they hit the spot. I have shared with family, photos of some things I cook. I made French Onion soup, I had photos of the carnalized onions and then the finished product complete with toasty melted smoked provolone cheese on top. I used bread I baked and chicken stock from a crock pot chicken I made. I did another chicken yesterday. I will freeze one of the breasts and both drumsticks, use the bones to make broth and the rest of the meat that I did not use to make my chicken salad sandwich to make chicken vegetable soup. I will probably freeze half the soup; it will probably make for than a couple meals for me. I have made bread enough lately that I don't need the recipe anymore, kind of have it memorized. Biscuits, brownies or muffins, I still need the recipe. Corn muffins, the recipe is on the bag of corn meal, but I play around with switching up some flour for corn meal and some honey for sugar, maybe add some peppers or cheese. I am not sure what perfection would be but delicious is good enough to me.
