I briefly believed I was a Libertarian. Thinking about it, Libertarianism is unsustainable. Someone or something will take the reins and take away your liberty. What is needed is a government that will defend liberty from those who would accumulate too much power. A government that will restrain itself from overreach but also exert the needed power to control the Monopolists, Gangs, Organized Crime, Oligarchs and others. A government that can provide a common defense against threats both foreign, multinational and domestic.

I have become skeptical of Libertarians. I think they believe in Libertarianism because they think they are better than others. They think that in a society with very little restrictions (no police, no tax collectors, no regulations) they would outperform the rest of the population, rise to the top or at least do what they want that currently would land them in jail.
