I can teach someone to weld in less than 3 months, even if they have a poly sci degree. I see people of all backgrounds marvel at themselves when the make their first good weld. People almost always get joy from doing something like that. Teach someone to cast metal, take scrap, melt it and pour it into a mold and out comes something beautiful, joy to the world. Can the politics, office or otherwise and go make something and you will be more concerned about how nice the things you make turn out than about the relative size of your paycheck.
