I don't envy or pity the rich. They will reap as they have sown. I despise the greedy and grasping. It is they who fear others will try to take their money and power. That fear will limit their friendships and lead to isolation.
The rich who are humble and generous will be happier but that does not mean that they are not vulnerable to a greedy grasping hired guard. They would be less vulnerable as the others would probably prevent the greedy grasping hired guard from being able to execute a takeover.
Instead of being a guard to overthrow the boss, I would be the voice of conscience whispering benevolent advice in their ear. Reforming our leaders is better than overthrowing them and replacing them with more of the same.
Would that with power and money our leaders might grow benevolent and wise instead of greedy and grasping. Those who would rather be feared than loved are lost.
