I don't find this to be correct, "He was the guy who could get things done, as opposed to old starry-eyed Bernie who was far too idealistic to ever hope to accomplish anything." Biden's nomination was not because "He was the guy who could get things done." It was because He was the guy who could cobble together a coalition and other support that was bigger and more powerful than anyone else's. He beat Trump not because he could get things done but because he could pull enough votes in the swing states to win the electoral college. Campaign slogans not withstanding. For Biden to be the candidate who could get things done, his coattails needed to be much longer providing much larger majority in the Senate.
