I don't think this is accurate:

"With the exception of the few jobs that simply cannot be performed remotely,"

Most jobs can't be done remotely and some that can be done remotely can be done better at a common site for face to face collaboration.

All those essential workers who have gone to work during the pandemic to provide us with goods and services, that work can't be done remotely. Factory workers, warehouse workers, retail, hospitals, law enforcement, hair cuts, lawns mown, restaurants, bars, resorts, spas, theme parks, fairs, construction, power plants, I am sure I am just scratching the surface.

I know that you want things to be different and so do I but we have to be real. This is not science fiction, we have to actually live this out.

Just like your stories about how we all should be driving electric cars. There are not enough types of electric vehicles to replace all the vehicles in all markets. To many needs are not served by the electric vehicle makers. Still waiting for someone to sell a compact electric pickup truck or any mass market electric pickup truck for that matter.
