I feel that capitalism is good when you define it as:

Private ownership of means of production and resulting profit.

That does not preclude government ownership of means of production it just does not prohibit private ownership.

Capitalism does not mean no rules, no regulation, no taxation, it just means that people can own things and use them to produce products and services in potentially profitable ways and keep some share of the profit.

Almost all the harm from capitalism is caused by improper or lax regulation often cause by regulatory capture of the government by industry. Failure of democracy. There are so many ways that our governments are not truly democratic but more like oligarchy. The oligarchs are well resources and very capable of manipulating the people and the people’s representatives to governments. The oligarchs have written the rules in their favor and captured the media so that their messages dominate.

I don’t believe that oligarchs are completely in control and the compete against each other but government decisions are always made by one faction of oligarchs or another.
