I finally got around to following you. I have read a lot of your stuff. I like it even if sometimes I disagree or don't understand. There is a huge gulf of race that separates us.
I grew up is an all white town. This was not due to racism. At the time there just weren't any black people living in rural central Maine.
45 years later I have had a lot of contact with black people. I have had black next door neighbors for that last 25 years. A year ago we moved to a majority black neighborhood. We moved up from a working class, blue collar neighborhood in decline to a mixed income slightly more wealthy neighborhood that is majority black. I wonder if my black neighbors wish a black family bought our house. I wonder if they are worried that we will call the cops. Our kids are grown and don't live with us so there are no kids to play together.
On a slightly different subject. The city has not incorporated our subdivision so our utilities and services are not provide by the city and there is really only one cable tv/internet provider. Trash pickup, water/sewer, electricity, internet are all more expensive here than across town but our property taxes are lower. We are just across the lake from New Orleans.
