I guess I could go check and see but how long has he been on Medium? If he has had no exposer, no posts then it is not surprising that he has no following. We each, you and I started at that point as well. If we stayed in lurker mod and never posted we would have no following. I read things here from people with huge followings that I think are wrong and bad.
The 97% number is very specific and as commonly used has been “debunked” as few writers properly qualify it and thus it is commonly misinterpreted as a percentage of all scientists.
It is also possible that Published Climate Scientists have a group think and confirmation bias. My understanding is even that 97% are not in agreement with more than the general conclusion that Human caused emissions of GHGs are a contributing factor in Global Climate Change.
I am a published scientist in a different field and I can agree with that conclusion as well and it seems that 90% of published scientists also agree.
So lets assume we are right. What can we expect realistically can be done? Agreement on a path forward is not likely more than 50% for any particular action, I don’t care if you mean “eat less meat” or Tax Carbon or ban fossil fuels. What if you asked those Published Climate Scientists if they thought we will keep global temperature rise to less than 3 deg. C by the year 2100. What percentage would say yes?
Lets hope we can. Lets hope we even try. Keep writing. I didn’t not mean to be bashing you.
