I guess numbers in a ledger or spreadsheet mean more to me than you. I track the performance of my investments and the numbers are tangible to me. I guess part of that is I work with numbers and words in electronic files as a way of life.
Also, I spend enough on tangible not consumable things that have great value that the money in the form of tangible assets is quite visible, tangible, tactile, I own two houses without mortgages. That feels like money, wealth, comfort, security.
Knowing you have a lot of money in the bank will let you buy better wine and cheese.
