I guess you are just rebutting the other story and really don't have any other point but you do get a few things wrong.

An AR-15 in .223 Remington (5.56 x 45 NATO) is not a great choice for defending a suburban home. There are many better choices, a pistol caliber carbine or a combat shotgun are much better for a number of reasons. If you are properly trained a handgun would be better as well.
Yes, people walk around with a conceal pistol hoping someone will do something so they can use it. They want to kill, they want to be a hero, or both.
Are you kidding me, sure there are people who want to kill people? There were more than 4,900 murders in the U.S. last year.
I did not read the other person's story and I don't doubt it deserved a rebuttal but you could have done better.
