I have a real problem with this phrase. It is not clear who "we" is, and it is not clear what is the problem.

You already made it clear that undocumented workers are not a problem it is a good thing, so what is the problem? Since it is not a problem why would anyone, whoever they are, those "we's" why would they want to fix it.

You have to know what the problem is if you are going to be effective at fixing it.
