I have supported women for more than 9 years when they did not have a job. I did this without hard feelings. I did object when my first wife wanted to quit her job and go back to school. I showed her the math that indicated the lost wages and school costs were greater than added lifetime earnings due to her added education. In the end I did not stop her. She quit her job, went back to school, graduated and took a job making not much more money that she hated as much as her previous job. Instead of her being miserable we agreed she should quit. A decade later she passed away do to physical and mental illness.
