I highlighted this:

"Why? Because there is no profit in general wellbeing. People's need for healthcare must be a want for a scarce product so that it can be profitable. We know this, yet it is allowed to stand."

But of course, it is hugely short sighted of the elite to not understand general wellbeing would create more wealth and profit outside the healthcare system. Business would spend less on insurance and claims because illness would be prevented instead of treated. Productivity would increase because of reduced absenteeism, less disability and burnout.

It is not just because the healthcare system demands to continue to be private and for profit. It is just as much because the elite desire to have things that the lesser people don't. Healthcare can't be universal because then it would cease to be a privilege of being rich, a right only to the upper classes. We are ruled by people who insist on being better and more privileged than those they rule. What is the point of being the boss if you can't lord it over all your minions?
