I know of and own a bunch of rifles that are not made to kill people. They would be very ineffective and cumbersome to use as a weapon. They were designed for target shooting when resting on a bench held up by sandbags. They are very heavy and awkward to hold up in a typical shooting position or even lying prone. I have some air rifles that I am not sure they would kill someone if they were used to shoot someone in the head or eye at close range. Yeah, the AR-15 is not a true assault rifle and not really a weapon of war but is way more deadly than a lot of rifles. Regarding where will it end, it ends where the people say it ends. It could end with just magazine capacity limits, or it could be like Australia and all the semi autos will be banned.
