I liked your story and mostly agree with you. I have one quibble. In you section on population growth you seem to attribute it to the availability of food, but I think if you study it more you would see that medical care played as big a role as the availability of food. I think that the food would not have been as essential if it was not for the reduction in deaths from preventable causes.
