Not just Medium but many others as well. They send me ads for baby diapers, I am 65 single, and my grandchildren are tweens, duh. Medium rarely feeds me a story I want to read; I scroll my favs and search by subject matter. I am not following you to Substack, to narrow a pipe. I might go read stuff on Reddit.
