I think this ignores another possibility

A society which is most intrinsically rammed with justice is one in which YOU could be born as any individual at any place within it and be equally miserable as the next and all persons.

On a planet of 9 billion people a just and equitable society might be a pretty miserable place to live, at least it would feel miserable to the billion or so used to living in the developed world.

Me, I am privileged, and I know it and kind of revel in it. I don't mind helping others, I actually like helping others but so long as it does not cost too much, and I don't have to suffer much.
