I think this is another untruth. Maybe true regarding writing but it is very easy to fact check something written. You don't have to have greater knowledge if you can access the greater truth on the internet. When being told something face to face less knowledgeable people will look for tells to determine if you are lying. Eye contact, posture, sweat, intonation. Telling lies with a straight face is harder than you might think. Some more knowledgeable people will tell such whoppers of a lie that anyone will call bullshit on them. You might know a lot but that does not mean you are a good lier.
