I think this is misrepresentative.

"From portion sizing to sugar percentages, Americans beat the crap out of the French when it comes to eating poorly." I would say we eat "richly." It might be a reasonable question, how many years of life expectancy would you sacrifice to be able to eat whatever food you wanted?

To my mind the right answer is balance. Not being able to enjoy eating but adding a few years to your lifetime does not improve your quality of life. Eating and drinking yourself to death 10 years before your time is not a good trade either.

The walking thing is a bit of a challenge for some people some of the time. I like and even love walking. I just walked a couple miles round trip to the store in 102 deg. F heat index weather. Not safe for everyone. I am sure that everyone who saw me was thinking I was some poor person who had no car.
