I think we need to do it, but the capital cost to replace just China, U.S. and India’s coal fired power plants with solar or wind is more than a trillion dollars and battery storage would cost another two trillion. Then we need to replace fossil fuel vehicles, oil power plants and natural gas plants and add capacity to charge all the EV’s. We are looking at tens of trillions of dollars in capital investment then we need to talk about mitigation of sea level rise while we implement the green power transition.

It has to be done and it should not prevent other social reforms.
