I think we should be keeping a supply of mask on hand for the rest of our lives. We should have been wearing masks during flu seasons past. My wife sometimes wore masks for doctors visits before the pandemic. Do you really want to be in the ER, Doctor, or Urgent Care waiting room during flu season without a mask and hand sanitizer even if you got a flu shot. If you look back in time, people in Asia were wearing masks before the pandemic. Parents of kids who live in areas with bad particulate pollution should have their kids wear masks on bad days. Masks are not fun but they don’t suck. They are not that bad. Maybe I feel that way because I have been wearing PPE for half a century and have a hearing disability because I did not start wearing hearing protection at a young enough age.
I find it disturbing to see people who should be using PPE who don’t. Every persons disability exacts a price from us all. We should avoid disability when we can within reason.
After a while masks will seem normal and not uncomfortable unless you fight it, dodge it and don’t get used to them.
Even after the pandemic is over, don’t go to work or send your kids to school if you or they are sick. People sick with contagious diseases including the common cold need to stay home and self-isolate.
