I was actually pondering the practical uses of gold today. Its major attribute is its resistance to corrosion, its ductility and its malleability. Not conductivity which is lower than silver and copper and even aluminum is better is some applications where weight is important. Its use in electronics relates to the corrosion resistance and its softness that provides for good contacts. It seems almost nothing takes the shine off gold. Its luster is its charm. Consider me a gold bug.
