I would be fine if my headstone had a little rocket carving with the epitaph Chief Engineer and Propulsion Design Lead, worked in space programs from 1981 to 2035. I will be 77 in 2035 and I hope I am still working.

I will admit I sometimes spent whole 8 hour shifts 4pm to midnight at my desk reading novels as a sort of space program Maytag repair man. I was ready to drop my book and head to the launch pad or the Vehicle Assembly Building to resolve any problem. More than once I called my inebriated NASA counter part at home after 10PM to get approval for my proposed resolutions, witnessed by a on site NASA person who would sign for the other via "Telecon."

While I am an advocate for UBI, think it is sad that people don't quit bullshit jobs and go get a job that matters.

Many think the space exploration is a waste but at least I feel like it isn't and I am making the most of my efforts.
