If we make “public college tuition free” won’t these state schools just raise tuition to collect more money from the federal government. I mean public colleges get to set the price for tuition and if the federal government is going to pick up the tab what is to control the price? Are we going to have federal government controls on state school tuition prices?
When we talk about student loan forgiveness are we going to forgive student loans that went to pay for things other than tuition? When I got my student loan I had already paid my tuition and was assured of graduating and jobs seemed plentiful so I borrowed some money to improve my standard of living and so I would have some nice clothes and cash in my pocket when I went job hunting. I wonder how many of the student loan holders took spring break vacations.
