"In the normal world if you break the law you go to court to plead your case. You’re innocent until proven guilty. Why is it different with traditional social media apps?"

Boomer here, I think you know the answer but I will explain anyway. My house my rules. I set up a platform I get to set the rules. It has been that way as long as there has been moderation. You don't like the rules go someplace else.

Facebook is a fine example, don't like it don't use it. They say it is a monopoly and should be regulated. I say nobody needs Facebook. Their are plenty of alternatives. Facebook is for sheeple anyone with half a brain would use it sparingly at most.

Set up a democratic block chain platform and be ready for the tyranny of the majority.

Freedom of speech only means the government can't silence you. It does not mean I have to host your speech. I have been banned. I do now self censor. The wise sometimes know better than speak the truth. Most people can't handle the truth. I try to slip a little true past the censors and nannies. I am thinking of forking and starting to write under a pseudonym. I am not sure it would be worth the trouble.
