It does not matter who I vote for for president. My state is solid red and its electoral votes will go to Trump. I will vote but the box at the top of the ticket has not mattered for the whole 20 years I have lived in this state.

It is the same story for California or New York, except in reverse. Unless you live in a swing state your vote for president is almost meaningless.
