It does not take automatic weapons. Our Super Walmart has a city cop car parked in the fire lane and a cop patrolling the main entrance. I don't know who pays for his presence (my taxes or Walmart, either is ok with me), but that deterrence is enough to stop the blatant shoplifting. You can't let criminals feel like they can act with impunity. Why did the Portland Walmart's not have adequate security? Did the city just turn shoplifters back out on the street Scott free.
