It is not accurate to consider the U.S.A. as a developed nation like the other members of the G7. The U.S.A. is more like Russia, China, and India. Not like Europe, South Korea, Japan, or Tiawan. The U.S.A. has large groups of disadvantaged people suffering from centuries of racial and sexist discrimination. Compared to truly developed nations our metrics for education, health care, happiness, etc. are lagging. The U.S.A. is not a first world nation we are a second world nation along with Russia, China and India. We are powerful because we are so big we have plenty of innovators, workers and resources, because we exploit those workers and resources. America is different than the developed nations in more than just gun ownership.
