It is not time to put the Earth into hospice. While the cure will be painful the prognosis for a full remission and cure is good. I wrote about this here:

I consider your call for palliative care selfish. I know we all work toward our self interest but for some of us we selfishly want to leave behind a positive legacy. We believe this enough that we will even sacrifice and suffer today for a better tomorrow for a world we will not live to see.
