It seems we already see some punishment of accused prior to conviction. It is the same in the workplace as it is in politics. An accusation of impropriety can lead to punishments. This makes a mockery of due process.

I understand that due process puts a huge burden on accusers but it also puts a huge burden on the accused. In the workplace and politics we make a mockery of the idea of innocent until proven guilty. It is the nature of our due process that the guilty often not found guilty. I had an argument about a murderer not being a murderer if a jury did not find them guilty. I claimed they were a murderer if they committed the murder even if found innocent by the jury. God (and probably you) knows what you did and what were your motives, juries can be fooled.

Public opinions matter in politics and business so if you sound guilty then punishments may apply. If the public still supports you even if you are accused then you might get a pass. Biden seems to be getting a pass and I think Franken could have too if he stayed strong. Yes, even if they are sort of good guys they will have the support of the patriarchy and abusers, it comes with the territory.

Hey, at least we don’t defenestrate LBGTQ or make women wear Burkas. We still mutilate male genitals and men have to perform the most dangerous work in our society. Now we are finding out that there have been pedophile nuns.

Keep working on ending abuse and if you want to make ending workplace sexual misconduct good for you but you do seem a little too militant and unrealistic.
