It seems you think I am speaking of the Christian god. I am not speaking of any religion. I am speaking of God, the creator of the universe. There is but one God with many names. One God, many paths. The universe was created, it might have been a Big Bang or maybe not. I lean toward the Universe created itself thus the Universe is God. That does leave open the option that God is not a conscious being.

This being the 21st century does make atheism any more correct. God is or isn't regardless of the century. We can argue the numbers but it seems less than 7% of the world's population are avowed atheists, people who are quite sure there is no God. In the decades that passed since the turn of the century the percentage of the population that is atheist has declined as demographic changes have seen declines in the population segments that are most likely to be atheist.
